Product Availability
Our web site is regularly updated. However, we cannot guarantee availability. Orders placed outside our open hours (10.00 am - 4 pm Mon-Fri UK time) may be subject to change. We will contact you as soon as possible if this is the case. If you place an especially high-value order, we reserve the right to contact you for further confirmation of your order details, prior to authorisation.
Payment
All prices include VAT at the current rate. We accept all major credit and debit cards, including:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- Switch / Maestro
- Delta
All credit and debit card transactions on this website are processed using secure online payment systems provided by Protx - the UK’s largest independent Payment Service Provider. We also accept payment by cheque; cheques require a minimum of 5 working days clearance time before goods are dispatched. Cash, Bankers Draft and Building Society cheques are also acceptable and are not subject to a clearance time. Only send cash by Special Delivery in a strong envelope after seeking advice from the Post Office. All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to or does not authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
Delivery
We deliver to the UK mainland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Items that are in stock are normally dispatched same day. Typically, goods will arrive 2-3 working days from us having received your order/payment. Delivery charges vary but are in the region of nil-£10 for telescopes and nil-£5 for smaller items such as eyepieces, microscopes and binoculars delivered within the UK mainland. Smaller items such as filters and adaptors are normally delivered free. Saturday delivery is available on request at an additional charge. If ordering from Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland there is usually an increased charge for delivery; please contact us prior to placing an order for a quote. If your product is sent by Courier, they will attempt delivery twice. After that, if they have been unable to deliver because you are not home, there will be a charge for each subsequent delivery attempt. If after five days you have not contacted them to arrange delivery after the first two attempts, the goods will be returned to us and the return delivery costs will be charged to you.
Returns and Cancellation
When you buy goods through www.firstlightoptics.com, you have the same rights as when purchasing from a regular shop or showroom. In addition, you are entitled to a seven working-day 'cooling off' period, as described in the 'distance selling' section of the government website http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases and if for any reason you are not happy please return it within 7 days and we will exchange, replace or refund it at your request - subject to the following conditions:
- The goods must be returned with all accessories, packaging, instructions, etc and must be in unused condition.
- Software can only be accepted if the packaging is still sealed.
- A proof of purchase must be supplied.
- You must return any free gifts that came with the product.
- We will not refund any items that have been specially made to your individual specification or personalised.
Please do not return goods without first contacting us. Wherever possible, we will respond to your individual circumstances. If a fault occurs within 28 days of delivery, we will always offer you an exchange, replacement or refund. If the fault occurs after 28 days but within 12 months, we will normally offer you a prompt repair, exchange or refund. To arrange for return of your goods please contact First Light Optics Ltd by email questions@firstlightoptics.com or by telephone 01392 420792 between 10.00 am - 4 pm Mon-Fri.
You must take reasonable care of the goods in your possession pending their return to First Light Optics Ltd. Please ensure goods are suitably packed. Goods to be returned should be sent to: First Light Optics Ltd, 25 Commins Road, Exeter, Devon, EX1 2PZ. Where the item is large or bulky, please contact us so that we can arrange collection.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Your Email address
We retain the email addresses of those who contact us. We do not sell, rent or loan customer email addresses to any other party. We may send occasional notices relating to our products or services. If you do not wish to receive these notices, please advise us by email to questions@firstlightoptics.com or telephone 01392 420792. If you wish to advise us of a change of email address, please also contact us using the above email or telephone.

Cookies are small pieces of text that your web browser stores on your computer when you visit some sites. First Light Optics Ltd uses some cookies that make it easier for you to use our site. For example, we may use a Cookie to retrieve your shopping cart contents on a return visit. The Cookie contains no personal information about you - it is merely a text file and the Cookie we may add is nothing more.
